The World's Most Expensive Abaya

It maybe a coverall -but it doesn't mean that the humble abaya can't bling with the best of them. British designer Bruce Oldfield has created what is being touted as the 'World's Most Expensive Abaya'. He's covered one abaya with 4,668 individual diamonds (g/h color and a VS clarity) totalling 85.13 carats set in 359.7 grams of white gold.

“This is the world’s first red carpet abaya,” said the designer who stressed in an interview that the abaya is “only for princesses, my dear”.

This princess style abaya is expected to sell for $365,000 with a donation going to Islamic Relief, (a global relief charity) at a major British luxury brands trade fair, taking place in early August.

Soon everyone (well everyone who works in McDonalds) will be wearing an Oldfield outfit, he's also been commissioned to redesign the McDonald’s restaurant uniform.
