Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama's declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they'd rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that's somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country's difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans and especially ones like Rob Portman who are running for office and have close ties to George Bush.
Like him or not, President Bush had confidence. Clearly, Obama does not know what he is doing and his administration is sending him down the wrong path - repeatedly. He was such a big anti war man but reality has set in and now he finds himself sending more troops to Afghan. I guess he thought the shoes were easy to fill. Welcome to reality Mr. President.
Under President Bush the unemployment rate never exceeded 6.3% until the very last month of his presidency. The Obama deficits are much higher than the Bush deficits.
And to add to his problems, another one of Obama's biggest problem is that he's a WHINER, pure and simple - always blaming someone else for any and all troubles. The American people don't like whiners - never have and never will. They want a leader with an always optimistic attitude, even in the worst of times. Remember how Reagan was always described as possessing "a sunny disposition." All Obama projects is doom and gloom. The more Obama whines - and it's not a trait he will ever change, the man is a serial whiner - the less presidential he appears. The more he whines, the more the American people will continue to tune him out.
What's happening is that more and more Americans are realizing that President George W. Bush was a very good president, and that Obama is an inexperienced and incompetent windbag, whose Communist policies that he's put in place in the last 10 months, are what has been the primary cause of our tanking economy. It's dawning on them that Obama's and his Obama--worshiping lemmings going over the cliff with him, excuse that it's all Bush's fault is just more Obama Bull Shit. So the American public is waking up, I guess that George Bush wasn't that bad after all.!
